1) I don't want to get the claim status through the IVR. I need it from a live representative.

What should I use after "I need it" "from" or "by"?

I think we've asked you before what IVR is. I'm not going to go back searching for the response (if there was one). When you use terminology that is specific to your job, please write a note in your post explaining the term, acronym, or initialism.

I would just say through/over IVR.

If you really want to use your sentence, use "from". You want to get the update from a real person.
