I sit on the last row of the classroom, and I sometimes cannot see the words on the blackboard very clearly. (My bold.)

Can I use "in" instead of "on" in the above sentence?

Not only can you, but you should. In BrE, "on" is wrong in that context.

Only 'in' is possible in AmE as well.

Also, note that BrE would say the back row, not the last row.
