Hallo!
I sort of got thinking. - What does this mean, can you please explain.
Thank you!

Where did you find this sentence, Elenichka?

It is AmE for "I have been thinking," with the expectation of a new thought about to be announced.

It was a request for a translation at an English forum

I would like to know if "I sort of got thinking" appeared with any sort of context.

I have only heard this as 'I sort of got to thinking', but it's very colloquial.

It's a way of expressing that you've been pondering over something, especially when reflecting upon how to solve a tricky problem or difficult situation. Often it's used when you come up with a good idea or new approach to something.
