A wanted to join the in-person English club I am in charge of. He added me on social media a few months ago and later he unfriended me (deleted me) from his contact list. I didn't know it until last week when he tried to add me again but I didn't at him. Last night I saw the person and he asked me why I didn't ignore him (at the meeting) and I said:

I suppose it'll be extremely rude to unfriend someone. You're not respecting me and the same here.

The intended meaning of the second sentence is "You're not respecting me so I don't need to care about your feelings too".

Please help me with the italic sentence.

If I were you, I'd say, "it's tit for tat for what you did to me", since it's not meant to be polite.

See above. I think you've messed up the underlined part. Did you mean to say "He asked me why I ignored him"? It would be very odd to say to someone "Why didn't you ignore me?"

Maybe I'm too old for the terminology but "I didn't at him" means nothing. You could get away with "I didn't @ him" I suppose but I wasn't aware that putting an ampersand before someone's name is a way of accepting a friend request.

Yes, I meant to say "He asked my why I ignored him when he was trying to talk to me". It should be "Why did you ignore me?"

No, it was my fault. It should be "I didn't add him". I didn't know what was happening when was I trying to type "add", I guess it might be the autocorrect. However, "at" isn't a wrong word. Again, my apologies. Or perhaps because of my new keyboard. Sometimes some letters are missed when I was typing.
