My friend suggested me to watch Tom cruise "Xyz" movie and I wasn't familiar with it, I thought I'd seen his every movie.

My friend suggested me to watch tom cruise "Xyz" movie and I wasn't familiar with it, I thought saw his every movie.

What's the difference here?
 
There are several mistakes in each of them. Here's one possibility:

My friend suggested I watch Tom Cruise's "Xyz". I hadn't heard of it. I thought I'd seen all his movies.
 
Ok so I thought I'd seen is correct but when do we use "I thought I saw" can you give me any example?
 
@the batman learner You need to understand the difference between direct and reported speech.

I thought I saw a cat yesterday.
This morning, I told my sister that I thought I had seen a cat yesterday.
 
What's the difference here?
"I thought we moved/had moved on from this.

Context: When you think you've already gone over a subject but your friend brings it up again.
