Tonight I walked by a shopping mall and thought of the English club there; it was held every Monday evening. I didn't go there for a while so I almost forgot that one. I was going to use the bathroom in the shopping mall and when I thought of the English club, I went there. Some old friends there saw me and asked "What brought you out here tonight?" I said:

I walked by when I thought of our English club.

Is the italic sentence natural?

Tonight I was walking by a shopping mall and thought of the English club there; it meets every Monday evening. I hadn't been there in a while, so I had almost forgotten that one. Two things. One, it's close enough, I guess. Two -- which is it -- were you walking by, or had you gone in to use the restroom?

By the way, what's the relevance of your title?

Sorry for the delay, emsr2d2.

I was about to use "I wanted to use..." to start my original sentence but I forgot to change it. Sorry for that.
