Is "I was up till late" correct? and is it equal "I was up all night"?

Yes, it's correct, but the two don't mean the same.

I'm surprised to read this.

I would say "I was up late" or "I was up until/till midnight (1 am, 11 pm, whatever)."

The "till' would requires a specific time, not a general "late."

I can imagine saying "I was up till... oh geez, I don't know... late, anyway... and feel like I've been run over this morning."

And to me. There are quite a few citations in both the BNC and COCA for "till late"

Actually, I also use "was up till late". It may be regional in the US.
