I have gone through "wondering" in different grammer books. Recently, I had read this sentence somewhere which I can not provide the source , I only like to know if this is right?

*I was wondering what is wrong with the current dating culture?*

There shouldn't be a question mark there.

I understood. Please make me understand what I have requested to explain.

"I was wondering what is wrong with the current dating culture."
It's important that you note the source whenever you copy a sentence you're going to ask us about. We have very strict copyright laws in the UK (where the forum is based). In future, make sure you provide the source.

The main sentence is grammatically correct. What's confusing you about it?

I thought you were asking about the "I was wondering" sentence. It's not a question, so no question mark.

I was wondering what is wrong with the current dating culture.
That is grammatically correct.

Please don't use asterisks to enclose a sentence.

is it politely asking ? could you please help me understand the meaning of this sentence?

is it politely asking ?

You're asking whether the 'I was wondering' part in the sentence in question is a device for politeness distancing in making requests, similar to:

A: I was wondering if you wouldn't mind helping me with something quickly.
B: Of course. How can I help?

I think the answer is very likely to be no, as asking about what's wrong with dating culture is not a request, and not something you need to be polite about. If you want us to tell you clearly what the sentence does mean, you'll have to tell us exactly where you heard it, how sure you are that it's exactly what the speaker really said, and give us some context to help. Until you do that, my best guess as to the meaning is that the utterance should be transcribed like this:

I was wondering—what's wrong with the current dating culture?

In this sense, the 'I was wondering part' is a way to express curiosity about something. In this case, the sentence means 'I was curiously asking myself the question: What's wrong with the current dating culture?' As I say, that's just a guess.
