I will live in the hospital for two days for a detailed body exam.

Context: I’ve suffered from hypochondria for many years and now it became somatic symptoms disorder. I’ve been feeling uncomfortable lately because of loose bowels. I will live in the hospital for two days for a top-to-bottom body exam.

Is my italic sentence natural?

I think the red "for" is not needed. Is it a typo?
