I need an idiom for "things are not working" as in, things are not the way I wanted them to be.
Thank you!

Welcome to the forum, drw1. :hi:

Why do you need an idiom?

sorry, I meant idiomatic phrase

Well, "Things aren't working ((out) for me) is fairly idiomatic.
"Things aren't working out as I had expected."
"Things have gone pear-shaped."

(Not a Teacher)

Things are going sideways.
Things are going south.
Nothing is going my way.
