Hello everyone,
I am learning English by myself now. Please help me this conversion:

In Friends TV show, season 2 episode 1, Rachel realized Ross had a new girlfriend. She got upset and drunk, she stayed over night with Paolo who is a very bad guy. The next morning, she felt very stupid. Monica and Chanler persuaded her:
Chanler: people do stupid things when they're upset
Monica: my God! If I had a nickel for every guy, I wish I hadn't

I don't understand what Monica was talking about.
Thank you

Re: IF I HAD A NICKEL FOR EVERY GUY, I WISH I HADN'T

I think Monica is saying that if she had a nickel for every guy she regrets having been with, she'd have a lot of money. I wouldn't put a comma after guy- the second part of of the conditional is implied and not stated for me.

I've edited your thread title. I didn't like it shouting at me every time I logged on.

This mean Monica wanted to say she had been slept with many guys. Causej Rachel would take it easy. Is this right?
Thanks all for your help.
@ Rover_KE: I take note for later post. Thanks for your edit

She's saying there are a lot of men she regrets having slept with.

And presumably a fair few she doesn't regret sleeping with.

Either way, at a nickel (5 cents) a time, she'd have needed a heck of a lot to make her rich!

Maybe she was going to say that she would have enough change to make a phone call.
