Hi. First time poster here.
I have a question. If i was telling someone that if i had money i would use it to eat out everyday would i say:
" If i had money, id be eating out everyday"
OR
"I i had money, i would have eaten out everyday"

I feel like the second one is more grammatically correct but the first one just sounds better?

Thanks in advance .
PS: id love it if you could also correct any mistakes ive made so far.

If I had more money, I'd eat out every day.

Hi.

I am a first time poster here. I have a question. If I was telling someone that if I had money, I would use it to eat out [STRIKE]everyday[/STRIKE] every day, which of the following would I say?

1. "If i had money, I'd be eating out [STRIKE]everyday[/STRIKE] every day."
[STRIKE]OR[/STRIKE]
2. "If I had money, I would [STRIKE]have eaten[/STRIKE] eat out [STRIKE]everyday[/STRIKE] every day."

I feel like the second one is more grammatically correct but the first one just sounds better.

Thanks in advance.

PS: I'd love it if you could also correct any mistakes I've made so far.

Welcome to the forum. :hi:

Please note my corrections above. It's important to follow these rules of written English at all times:

- Start every sentence with a capital letter.
- End every sentence with one appropriate punctuation mark.
- Always capitalise the word "I" (first person singular pronoun) regardless of where it appears in a sentence.
- Don't put a space before a full stop, comma, question mark or exclamation mark.
- Always put a space after a full stop, comma, question mark or exclamation mark.
- Don't put a space after opening quotation marks.
- Remember to use apostrophes when they're required.

"Everyday" is an adjective. You needed "every day" each time.

Your first sentence is possible - you'll hear some native speakers use the continuous there but sentence 2 is much more natural (with my corrections above). Using "If I had money" (hypothetical present) doesn't work with "I would have eaten out every day" (past tense). To use that ending, you would have to say:

If I had had money, I would have eaten out every day.

In future, there is no need for any kind of greeting ("Hi" etc) or to thank us in advance. Thank us after we help you, by clicking on the "Thank" button on any post you find useful.
