I'll get us some beers

A group of guys enter a bar and find a table. One of the guys then says...

"I'll get us some beers."

...and heads up to the bar.



Is the line of dialog perfectly natural for this situation or are there better alternatives? Thanks.
 
More natural for me would be "What are you having?"

"I'll get us some beers" denies the others in the group the chance to choose what they wish to drink.
 
Presumably, he knows the other guys and their preferences.
 
Should that be "heads up to the bar" or " heads to the bar"?
