"I feel bad/uncomfortable." is a quite normal answer but you can also say; I am feeling a bit uneasy.

You can say so. After all like ‘bad’ and ‘uneasy’ so-so’ is also an adjective meaning; neither good nor bad. It is a neutral answer.

"I feel so-so" is an acceptable phrase, but you are more likely to hear, "I'm feeling so-so" on being asked that question.

The response is usually accompanied by a hand gesture: arm slightly extended outwards with palm flat towards the ground and rotating (like a boat gently rocking left and right).

(1) It is NOT important, but I thought that you would like to know that many (most?) Americans don't use the hyphen.

(2) To many (most?) Americans, it looks strange.

(3) TOM: How are you?/ MONA: So so. (adjective)

(4) SUE: How well does George speak English? / TAMMY: So so. (adverb)
