[Vocabulary] Imagine - John Lennon

I am writing this post because I read that "the" is used for writing a specific noun and not generally.

There is no hard and fast rule.
The Indian elephant is quite different from the African elephant.
The domestic dog is descended from both wolves and jackals.
etcetera.

Why the article "the" is using here - to the violence and wars? why not to use "to violence and wars"(without the)?

There is also violence that has not affected humanity, like violence in the animal world. I was referring to specific violence, which is what the song is about. I don't think he was referring to the conflict between bees and hornets, etc.
