Hi

He'd killed many heavily armed, expertly trained men in close confines that night.

How should I understand "in close confines"?

Hi GUEST2008,

in close confines = in narrow borders = in brief limits

Within a small, enclosed or confined area.

Hi

So he killed these guys within some small area or maybe they were trained in close confines. I think the former.

Thanks
