What is the British expression for "rummage through"?

Why do you think we don't say "rummage through" in BrE?

And what does it have to do with your thread title - "In hurry"?

I meant I want the answer quick.......I didnot say you don't use it,I asked for another expression which i found that:poke about...

If you were asking about the difference between "rummage through" and "poke about", you should have stated that. "In hurry" is not an appropriate title for a post unless you are asking about those words.

Please don't be so demanding. The people who respond to your questions do so in their free time. They don't appreciate calls to be quick.

I am so sorry.....
