Hello, everyone. By 'inequality' and 'disparities', I want to include all kinds of inequality and disparities, such as race, sex and income inequality. How can I say the bold parts correctly?

The inequality that exists in this societyis the main reason why some people work harder than others.

Disparities in education and employment settings are the main reason why some people work harder than others.

The meanings are different, but both are natural and grammatical. The first includes the full range of disparities, the second includes just two.

Thanks, Charlie. Is either with or without 'the' correct?

I think you mean that inequality is the reason some people have to work harder than others.

Thanks. Yes, that's what I want to say.
What's about my question about the definite article in #3?

There was no mistake there. I think you'll find that when we don't correct something, it's because it's already correct.

Sorry, I have one more question. Which one is better when answering the question below?

Question: In education and employment, some people work harder than others. Why do some people work harder?
My answer 1: Disparities in education and employment are the main reason why in these two settings some people have to work harder than others.
My answer 2: Disparities in education and employment are the main reason why some people have to work harder than others.

It's fine with or without the article.

Where did you get the question?

I don't know what "In education and employment" means. Does it mean At school and work? Or is it asking about the fields of education and employment — for instance, teachers and career counselors?

I think "settings" is vague. What do you mean by that?
What about "sectors"?

Thanks, everyone. I saw this question on a Chinese website.
