inform me as to whether/whether........

Do I need to use "as to" after "inform me" in the following sentence or it is ok to use "whether" immediately after "inform me" ?

"It would be appreciated if you inform me as to whether/whether I can still apply for the program considering my degree."

You don't need "as to".
