Hello,

Which preposition would be more likely to use here? For or of?

- I've studied insurgencies for the last decade.
- I've studied insurgencies of the last decade.
 
It's nothing to do with likeliness. Different prepositions have different meanings.

I think you mean I've studied the insurgencies of the last decade.

Thank you. Could you please be more specific? What's the difference between the two?
 
- I've studied insurgencies for the last decade. I have spent the last ten years studying insurgencies.
- I've studied the insurgencies of the last decade. I have studied those insurgencies that have happened since 2011.
