I tried a search and received the same misleading answer:

What is the difference between a colon and a semi colon
a colon is a large intestine, a semi colon is part of that intestine ... A full
stop is a colon. A semi-colon is a full stop with a comma beneath it as ...
wiki.answers.com/Q/ What_is_the_difference_between_a_colon_and_a_semi_colon

Somehow the above answer managed to intertwine intestines with punctuation marks.

There is a "colon" (anatomy) which consists of ascending colon, transverse colon, descending colon and sigmoid colon (according to Wikipedia).

Then there is the punctuation mark called colon : and the semicolon ;

and I am feeling rather queasy now.

Ju, I"m sure the person who posted that response thought it was very clever, but it was simply confusing for people who didn't see the "humor."

The colon and semi-colon of punctuation have nothing to do with the colon and large intestine of the digestive track.

Thank you for reading my mind. Then, can you help to answer my queston?

The large intestine includes the cecum, the colon and the rectum; some people add the anal canal to this list. There is no small colon.
