Hello.

This exercise is from Longman Advanced Learner's Grammar. Do you think it is possible to use the continuous in 7 and 11. The book suggets using present simple.Снимок.jpg

#7 Possibly/#11 No.

Why is it impossible in 11?

I think because it describes an event from a novel in which the present simple would be more logical for referring to the event, similar to the previous sentence using "puts".

Can you increase the font size?

I'd also use the present continuous in #11.

I interpret that the demand is ongoing.

Just like # 8 # 9 suffering and recovering are both ongoing actions. Right? So it should be ''is sufefring'' and ''is recovering?''

Yes, #8 should definitely be is recovering. I'd choose is suffering for #9, too.
