Could you correct my essay, please?

Is it better to buy new things or to repair the things we already have?

While I might agree that buying new things is a better idea than using the things we already have, recycling old things could be quite beneficial. In this essay, I am going to talk about the advantages of repairing and recycling old items.
Firstly, recycling obviously makes the environment cleaner. It reduces the amount of waste on a daily basis. When people keep disposing of old things that they no longer need including household items this leads to the increase of garbage. Increasing amount of garbage has a negative impact on the environment. It is important to mention that there is a large number of electronic devices that people also get rid of every year. Similarly, electronic devises as well as other waste contribute to the pollution of the earth. In other words, buying new things instead of repairing or recycling them worsens the current situation and makes it even more uncontrollable. my opinion, it is vital for people to change their attutudes and repair or recycle the things they have instead of buying new ones every time. Of course, repairing the things we have is rather timeconsuming, but I think it is worth the effort because that way we aren't harming our planet. To conclude, people should change their lifestyle for the sake of a better environment and it will not be possible until people realise how important it is.

I wonder whether a hyphen is missing. See below:

Here are my thoughts on your opening paragraph:

1. You haven't explained why you "might" agree that buying new is better.
2. You've said that it might be better than "using things we already have". That's not the prompt. It's specifically whether it's better to a) buy new things or b) repair the things we already have. Make sure you concentrate on those two points.
3. Recycling and repairing aren't the same thing.

I tried to explain why I think it is a better idea and I tried to connect recycling and repairing. Is it better?
"While I might agree that buying new things is a better idea because just like many people I also like renewing my things, I believe not only repairing but recycling old things could be quite beneficial too. "
I think "I might agree" should be changed into "I tend to agree that."

Thank you. I can't edit it anymore :(

None of that explains why you think that buying new things is a better idea. Simply saying that people like buying new things doesn't explain why it's "better" (for the planet).

I tried to rephrase it again.
"While I might agree that buying new things is a better idea because of their visual appeal, (I meant their perfect condition that makes them appealing) I tend to support the repairing and recycling approach, as it is much more beneficial to our planet.

I have no idea how buying new stuff prevents pollution and negative health impacts! Producing new goods creates tonnes of pollution. Please explain further!

Thank you so much. Is the rest OK?
Say:

Increasing the amount of garbage has a negative impact on the environment.

You seem to have done a good job. I think they mainly want to see if you make any mistakes in grammar or usage.

I was feeling so sad, I am thinking of giving up, to be honest, but your comment left me wondering if I should keep trying indeed. Thank you 🥹
