Is it correct to ask someone to go in circles? For example during a kid's fun activity we ask them to go in circles. I hope you understand what I am trying to say.

It would be more natural to express how you want them to move. Are they going to walk, run, skip, or something else?

No, I think you misunderstood. I apologise. I mean like twirling or gyrate standing at one place.
 
Tell them to spin around [on the spot].
