I want to introduce Bob to my friends. Besides "His name is Bob.", are the following expressions correct?

1. He called Bob.
2. He is called Bob.
3. He named Bob.
4. He is named Bob.

1. He called Bob.:cross:
2. He is called Bob.:-( Better: He's called Bob.
3. He named Bob.:cross:
4. He is named Bob.:-(
I'd say 'This is my friend Bob'.

If you're introducing Bob to your friends, then Bob is with you at the time of speaking. It would be odd to refer to him with "He is" or "His name is" when he's standing right there. As Rover said, we'd say "This is Bob" or "This is my friend Bob". You would then say to Bob something like "And these are my friends Helen, Sam and Tarquin". They would then all say "Hello" or "Pleased to meet you" to each other.
