Hello,

This is a line from my student's assignment:

Being a physician – diagnostician is a serious profession and requires broad knowledge and good analytical thinking.

First, I am not sure about the title 'physician-diagnostician'. In our hospitals we have doctors whose primary job is to establish the diagnosis of a patient. For that they use various electronic and ultrasonic devices and are specially trained.
Second, the word 'serious' can lead some people to think that there are professions that are not to be taken seriously.

I would appreciate your opinion on that.

Thank you for the time and help.

I don't like serious either.

I suggest important.
