Hi.
I saw a couple eating food on a bench. I could tell that the food is not what we call good food, perhaps just some very very simple meal. But they are very happy. On the other hand, my cousin and his ex-wife was eating lobsters but they didn’t feel happy at all. Because that was the last time for them to eat together. I then wrote “It really doesn’t matter what you eat but with whom”. Is my sentence natural?
I want to say that “It’s not important what you eat, but if you eat things with the people you like, you will be very happy even though you eat simple meals”.
