Is this sentence grammatically correct?
"It would be great if you give me a book"

Hi everyone, I have been taught that in a sentence like this we should use past tenses because it's a conditional sentence and it uses the word 'would'.
But I have seen people use this kind of sentence with present tenses like mentioned in the above.
So I want to know if there is any situation where I can use 'would' in 'if clauses' and present tense as its outcome.Any suggestions would be helpful.

I think it would be OK in casual speech and informal language, but I definitely wouldn't use it in formal contexts. You will hear all sorts of conditionals in speech- not just the mixed ones you will find in grammars, but mixed-up ones.
