Let's pretend that someone calls me, but I don't know who it is. He's saying something like "Oh, what's up, dude, blah blah", but I deduce that this person has mixed someting up. He phoned on the wrong number. How can I say "I'm sorry, but it's a wrong number" in natural English?

:-D It's quite a vital situation in Russia.

I'm sorry, but you called the wrong number. I'm sorry, you have the wrong number. Hey! Pay attention, I'm not who you think I am.

I am not a teacher.

If I want to know what number he is intending to call, can I say "what number are you calling?"

If I have the slightest suspicion of abuse of the phone system I just hang up. If not I say "You must have the wrong number" and wait for a response.
