Hi!
I have a short question: which sentence is correct- "I have made new friends in college" or "I made new friends in college"? They both sound right to me but there must be a difference between them? Do they mean the same thing?
In what situations should I use them?

Thanks in advance :)

Hi, I'm not a teacher but I think have made is more appropriate if they are still your friends now.

If you are still in college, I would use the present perfect. If you have recently graduated, you could still use that. But after some time, the simple past would be better. There is no exact timeline there.
