[Grammar] just in time

Hi,
What does "just in time" mean? In a grammar book, it has the same meaning as "almost too late" does.

we got to the station just in time for our train. (Here, it means we were too late to catch the train and missed it )
A child ran into the road in front of the car -- I managed to stop just in time. (Here, it means that in the end, he/she had an accident with a child)

Absolutely not! It means we almost missed our train; we nearly missed the train (but in the end, we did not miss it; we caught it with a few seconds/minutes to spare).

A child ran [STRIKE]into[/STRIKE] onto the road in front of the car -- I managed to stop just in time. (Here, it means that in the end, he/she had an accident with a child)

No. It means the car stopped and the accident didn't happen, but it was close!

In book, it was written as "Ran into" !!

Anyway, how can I cross any words out in the editor section? Like what you did.
