Could you please help me with the meaning of this sentence.


Kafka’s rhetoric serves not only nor chiefly to complicate descriptions of character and event to the point that fixity vanishes.


I am not sure if the author means that Kafka´s rhetoric strategy results in description of complicated characters and event and thus his works cannot be interpreted by unambiguous means (fixity).


I don´t understand the phrase "to the point that fixity vanishes".

It's a badly written sentence, but Kafka's rhetoric does not set out to complicate things until they become ambiguous.
