Should I use "keep" or "hold" with the "the" in my sentence?

"Although, I attended dance classes when I was a teenager, I can still keep the balance/hold the balance.

1- The first comma should not be there.
2- Use "my balance" not "the balance".
3- I would use "keep my balance" in that context, but I know almost nothing about dancing.
2- The sentence suggests that going to the dance classes should be a hindrance to your ability to balance yourself!
I suggest you rephrase it. Perhaps use "since I was a teenager" in it.
