Hi everyone, can anyone tell me if the second sentence is correct?

1. I think someone needs to explain this computer program to me.
2. I think I need this computer programme explaining to me.

The sentence has to start with "I think I need" I have to use "explaining" in the sentence and it has to end with "me".

Thank you!

No, you cannot expect a computer programme to do the explaining.

I think I need someone to do the explaining of this computer programme to me.

Is this your homework?

not a teacher

Pick one spelling of "program/programme" and stick with it.

Sort of homework. My English friend gave me an exercise to practise.

Is your friend your teacher?

Yes, but she's not a qualified teacher, just a native English speaker. She doesn't know everything.

So, she's volunteered to help teach you English, and you don't want her to know the true extent of your English knowledge. She gives you tests to see what you know, and you get the answers from somewhere else to make sure you get them right? How is she meant to know what to teach you?

NO! NO! She's on holiday at the moment and I don't want to disturb her holiday. English is everything to me but not to her. I'm just looking through old exercises that she gave me a while ago. I have some exercises but not the answers and I am very confused about this one. I'll show her this link if you want. :)

"2. I think this computer program needs explaining to me." But that doesn't fit your criteria.
"I think I need someone explaining this computer program to me." That fits, but I can't think of a really natural way to fit all those criteria.

A natural sentence is "I think I need this program explained to me." Or "I think I need someone to explain this program to me."
