So, can I use "let alone" in post #1 instead of bold text?

It's very rarely used at the start of a sentence. Note the position of it in my example sentence. In your context, it would be "Even the Member of Parliament didn't get a seat in the front row, let alone any of the common people!"

Yes, but he, like emsr2d2, is using it in a different way.
