Can I say "I left from the airport"?

I am wondering in which case I can use "leave from."

Yes, you can say. You can use "leave from" if it's important that you mention the starting point of a journey.

I left the airport = I exited the building and its grounds and went somewhere else. The journey is irrelevant.
I left from Heathrow Airport = I went somewhere and my starting point was that airport.
