leave job vs leave work

Is there any reason to use "to leave work" instead of "to leave job"? I`ve always considered the second variant more correct to use though...

What is the context? Going home for the day or leaving one company or position to take another?

"To leave job" is not correct. You can leave a job or the job.

'leave work' can mean to stop working for that day. 'I have to leave work early tomorrow.'
'leave (my)(your) job' means stop doing that job. 'Leave your job and come work (with)(for) me.'
