''I left my billfold in the office.''

OR

"I forgot my billfold in the office.''

Waht would you say ''leave" or "forget"?

They have different meanings. I can leave something on purpose - "I left my car in the parking lot." If you forget something, it is not part of your plan - "I forgot where I left my car."

I just was trying to figure out if it's possible to say:

" I don't have any money on me. I left my wallet in the office"

Is it possible to say "I forgot my wallet in the office" in terms of I didn't take it with me?

If you don't want to pay the bill I suppose saying that you forgot your wallet is as good as any excuse. To say that I forgot my wallet when I really just left my wallet behind seems to be a lie.

Now I got the difference. Thanks:up:
