Let the dog out on the balcony

This is my dog, enjoying herself on my small balcony.



"Where's the dog?!" - My wife asked calmly, not knowing where she was and having been unsuccessful in finding her.
"I let her out on the balcony."

I'm not sure if my choice of prepositions is correct here. What would you suggest? For some reason, I'd really like to keep I let her... .

That sounds OK to me.
