Hello.

I want to use a phrase "lickety-split", but I don't know how to do this.

1. I was running lickety-split, because I didn't want to be late.
2. We need to do this job lickety-split.

Are these sentences correct? Do they sound natural?

If they are poor English, can you show me how to use the phrase.

Thanks in advance.
Boris.

I can't imagine any sentence that includes "lickety-split" sounding natural.

It's rather old fashioned sounding. Like you were a teenager in the 1950s.

Your number 1 doesn't work, but 2 does.

I did't know that it's old-fashioned.
Thanks for the information.
