Is there any word for the person who listens to us while we talk and vice versa?

When two person talk to each, can we call one is "this" to other?

Is there word for "this"?

Is interlocutor or conservationist correct word?

Welcome, Englishlover!

Interlocutor is correct, but it is an old word that is rarely used today.

Conversationalist is someone who likes to talk. It is not correct for your sentence.

There's not a good noun for this. You might say:

- I was talking to my friend.
- I was talking with my friend.
- My friend and I were talking to each other.
- My friend and I were talking with each other.
- My friend and I were talking.

You could use listener- a sympathetic person who listens is a good listener. Interlocutor is used in formal negotiations where some people are not talking directly to each other, and by some exam boards for a person who listens in on an interview- other than such specialised cases, we don't use it much.
