She says "Rick Estrin and the Nightcats getting us warmed up with Hot in Here from their album of last year Grooving in Greaseland.

Thanks. I found even I have known it now, I still cannot identify the syllable clearly especially the album title.

Ems, what does that mean (in post #3)?

:-?

Tarheel, why are you asking me what post #3 means? I didn't write it! Try asking dylc. ;-)

Yes, but you are good at figuring that stuff out. (Better than I am.)

;-)

I am nominating you for a raise in pay.
;-)

Oh, I see! Well, I think post #3 is supposed to mean "Thanks, but even though I now know what she says, I still can't hear the words clearly, particularly the album title".

Yes, that's exactly what I mean. Could you let me know what's wrong in my statement? Comparing the rephrased version I think it may be

1. The tense. I have known -> now I know.
2. Improper words. identify the syllable -> hear the words.

As a non-native speaker, I really don't feel any difference and that's that most difficult part to learn for me.

You could say:

I didn't know it then, but I know it now

"I have known"

I have known her for two years.

Thanks. I think I know the difference. Just wondering which part of my original statement confused you so that I can avoid that kind of mistake in the future.

The part in red below was the ungrammatical part we were struggling to comprehend.

Thanks. I found even I have known it now, I still cannot identify the syllable clearly especially the album title.

It seems to me that what you were trying to say in the red part in the post above was something like:

I find that even though I now know what it is.

Thank you everyone. Your answers help me a lot.
