Hello.:-D

You can't hide your lying eyes.
Your smile is a thin disguise.

These are part of the song lyrics from 'Lyin' Eyes' by the Eagles. (I love the song.)
Is it OK to use them in everyday conversation or is it too poetic?

Thank you.

You could describe someone as having "lying eyes" if you really thought that their eyes gave them away every time they lied. I wouldn't say it's an everyday way of speaking though.

It is, however, a great song!

Most people in a certain age group will recognize the reference. So you can use the lines if the context fits. But I would do that sparingly.

To me, it's a good lyric but too poetic for ordinary conversation.
