I have a question pertaining that sentence. What would me more sense when you are refering to yourself, I was made in USSR, or I was made in the USSR?
Thanks

Guess you have to use "the" with USSR=the USSR. If I'm not mistaken it consisted of 15 republics.

I take it, you might have meant "I was born in the USSR"?

Common American usage was to say "the USSR." (Or "the Soviet Union.")

Thanks guys, to be honest I have a tattoo on my back that says "Made in the USSR"
and I started questioning the grammar.

Just think of the Beatles song.

Your tattoo is grammatically correct.

And I think, rather clever, as long as you were at least conceived before the breakup of the Soviet Union. (As if any person alive wants to think of they were conceived...)

Thanks guys...really appreciate all the response.
