Hi.

I went to my aunt's new apartment and she cooked food for her guests. My younger brother didn't go there and he asked what happened that day; he wanted to know all the things to get a vicarious feeling.

I told him many things. In my narrative, I said "She made us sample her cooking".

I wonder if the sentence is natural.

The English is OK. We'e need more context to know if it's appropriate.

My cousin: Tell me what happend that day, Silver.
Silver: We first went to her new apartment. She made tea for us then showed us her kitchen. We had fun in her garden when she was cooking food. She made a kind of fried shrimp which we'd never tried before. She made us sample her cooking.

Do you mean that the sentence is natural itself? Is it natural in my context?

"She made us sample her cooking".

Dear teachers. Would you please tell me in what context will this sentence sound natural and not forceful?

She had us taste her cooking.

She gave us a little to taste.

Silver, try:

We enjoyed her garden while she was in the kitchen cooking.

She gave us a taste of her cooking.
