Have I made any mistakes? This short text is just an exercise.

Mark was listening to his father as he talked at length about the pain he felt after the death of Mark's mother. He then relapsed into silence and stared out the window with a distant look in his eyes. Mark took this as a cue to leave. At the doorway, he stopped and said, "Father, do you need anything?" The old man gave him a sad look and shook his head. His grey eyes brimmed with tears, and Mark's throat tightened. As he was walking to his room, the image of his mother surfaced in his mind. He would never forgive himself for not visiting her while she was still in good health. He arrived too late while she was kept on life support. If he had come when he should have, he would have missed an important contract and large amount of money, but he would have talked with her and looked into her eyes. Now you have your money, you fool! he chided himself, wishing someone would shoot him on the spot.

He'd arrived too late, [STRIKE]while[/STRIKE] and she was [STRIKE]kept[/STRIKE] already on life support. If he had come when he should have, he would have missed an important contract and the chance to make large amount of money, but he would have been able to talk with her, hold her hand, hug her and look into her eyes. "Now you have your money, you fool!", he chided himself, wishing someone would shoot him on the spot.
