was teasing a friend over text about his new beard. I mentioned I had seen him in his subdivision which is how I knew about his new beard. he texted back " why didn;t you say hello?" I told him he was with his family and didn't want to interrupt. Next time I saw him I would say hello. he responded, " maybe i'll catch you next time."

what does Maybe i'll catch you next time mean?

thanks!

It means that maybe next time the two of you can stop and have a chat. '(I'll) Catch you later' is another, similar idiom.

Are you asking about the dictionary listing? If so, yes it does.

I was teasing a friend [STRIKE]over[/STRIKE] by text about his new beard. I mentioned I had seen him in his subdivision which is how I knew about his new beard. He texted back "Why didn't you say hello?" I told him [that] it was because he was with his family [STRIKE]and[/STRIKE] so I didn't want to interrupt and that the next time I saw him I would say hello. He responded, "Maybe I'll catch you next time."

What does "Maybe I'll catch you next time" mean?

Thanks!

See my corrections above. You must start every new sentence with a capital letter and always capitalise the word "I". Don't put a space after opening quotation marks.
I don't know what "in his subdivision" means.

'Subdivision" is used to refer to a portion of a suburb.
