What has happened to the correct usage of "you and I" or Thomas and I"? I am now hearing radio anchors and talk show hosts sounding like our nearly illiterate teenagers using "me and John" or starting a story with "So me, John, Sue and Emily were sitting in the frong row..." Is this a new english usage? Is it a colloquial form that is becoming accepted? Where are we headed? Any thoughts?

In my opinion this usage is totally unacceptable. I can only conclude that the quality of instruction in our schools has dropped drastically since I was a teenager.
