First, please note the spelling of definition. There's not much difference in most cases although there are times when only one or the other would be used.
For example:
I looked up the definition in the dictionary - Correct.
I looked up the meanign in the dictionary - Correct.
I'm searching for the meaning of life - Correct.
I'm searching for the definition of life - Incorrect.
