"Don't try to win over the haters. You're not the jackass whisperer"

What does the above mean?

Thanks in advance.

What is the context?

haters - the antagonists in an argument (a term usually used in internet flame wars by the group who is pro something in reference to the other group who is anti something, check the imdb forums for many examples of these).

jackass - fool, jester, idiot prankster.

horse whisperer - one who possesses the special skill of taming wild horses by just whispering to them.

Therefore, a jackass whisperer is someone who possesses the special skill of dealing with fools or idiots.

Don't waste your time in trying to convince these fools is the essence of:

"Don't try to win over the haters. You're not the jackass whisperer"
